Hand Tufted Embellished Chenille Pillow Cover 20 x 20
Hand Tufting is a technique of textile weaving used to produce rugs or carpets partially by hand and partially by a mechanical tool. Individual yarn is punched through a fabric sheet using a handheld tool known as the tufting gun. Once the rug is complete a second fabric sheet is glued or stitched to the back to hold the tufts in place. Tufting is an ancient technique dating back to 5 BCE practiced by nomadic tribes and royal manufacturers in Persia. The modern tufting technique was developed in Georgia in the 1930s and rose in popularity in 1950s which encouraged Indian manufacturers to adopt the process. Hand-tufting yields a detailed product made from high-quality materials and consumes less time to make.
